The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped nearly every aspect of our lives, including the way we teach and learn. For international schools, the transition from pre-pandemic norms to the current landscape has been particularly significant. Here are some of the differences between international schools before and after COVID-19.
Teaching Modalities Pre-COVID: Traditional face-to-face instruction was the norm in most international schools. Classrooms buzzed with activity as teachers and students engaged in interactive learning experiences. Post-COVID: The pandemic prompted a rapid shift to remote and hybrid learning models. Virtual classrooms, online assignments, and video conferencing tools became essential components of the teaching toolkit. Post-COVID: The pandemic underscored the interconnectedness of the world and the importance of global cooperation. International schools renewed their commitment to fostering global perspectives, empathy, and intercultural understanding among students.
